WHALING SHOCKER! Kiwi PR Man ‘Booked SPY FLIGHTS’ for Japan’s Whale Hunters

EXPOSED: The spin doctor who went from press secretary… to aerial surveillance operative for Japan’s controversial whaling fleet!
In a scandal that has rocked the Southern Ocean and raised questions in the halls of power, a New Zealand public relations man has been accused of bankrolling covert spy missions against anti-whaling activists – all in the name of Japan’s brutal whale hunt.
Meet Glenn Inwood — the slick Wellington PR guru dubbed “Ginza Glenn” — now accused of putting Japanese surveillance flights on his personal credit card!
Inwood, head of the shadowy firm Omeka Public Relations, has long been known as the media mouthpiece for Japan’s Institute of Cetacean Research — the government-backed group behind the harpoon-wielding whaling fleet that continues to slaughter whales under the guise of "scientific research".
But this latest bombshell has shocked even hardened campaigners.
Outspoken Sea Shepherd captain Paul Watson told ABC News that Inwood personally financed flights out of Hobart and Melbourne in December — using small aircraft to stalk Sea Shepherd’s flagship Steve Irwin as it patrolled Antarctic waters.
“It was put on the credit card of Glenn Inwood,” Watson claimed.
“He even LIED to the charter company – saying he was working for the New Zealand Government conducting search and rescue!”
MISREPRESENTATION? SPYING? FRAUD?
Critics are now demanding to know: Who exactly is Glenn Inwood working for – and why is he allegedly impersonating government officials?
PR TURNED PROPAGANDIST?
Once an award-winning press adviser — and even a former press secretary to Labour Minister Lianne Dalziel — Inwood’s transformation into Japan’s leading foreign spin doctor for whaling has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Booted from his government role after it emerged he was planning to attend a pro-whaling conference while on the public payroll, Inwood then launched Omeka PR, going on to represent Japan’s IWC delegation and deliver relentless pro-whaling propaganda.
“What Australia should be doing,” he told ABC in 2005, “is helping to bring about the return of commercial whaling.”
He’s repeatedly gone on the attack against anti-whaling heroes like Watson, rubbishing claims of violent altercations with harpoon crews and even accusing Sea Shepherd of planting evidence in their own bulletproof vests!
CALLS FOR ACTION: ‘BAN THE PLANES!’
Now furious MPs and activists alike are demanding swift action.
Federal Opposition environment spokesman Greg Hunt has slammed the flights as “aiding an illegal operation” and called on the government to BAN any such charter flights from operating out of Australian airports.
“These surveillance flights are not just unethical – they’re supporting illegal poaching,” Captain Watson declared.
“The whalers are in contempt of an Australian court order. This is a national disgrace!”
And while the shadowy PR man remains silent, declining all media requests, the fallout is only beginning.
WHO IS FUNDING THE WHALE WAR?
With whispers of corporate collusion, foreign cash, and international lawbreaking, the question remains: how far will Japan’s allies go to silence whale defenders?
And why is a former Kiwi press secretary now footing the bill for high-flying espionage missions over Australian skies?
We say: Time for answers. Time for accountability. Time to end the slaughter.
